Equal Access for All? Library Conference Websites, Accessibility, and the Failure to Launch
Public DepositedLibrary conferences often outline accessibility expectations and requirements for presenters but are they living up to their own standards? In this session, the presenters tackle the sticky problem of the profession's stated accessibility values and the reality of accessibility noncompliance. They detail their review of 55 regional and national conference websites and how well these websites met basic accessibility expectations. They discuss the juxtaposition of ideals with implementation and why this should matter more to librarians and our professional organizations.
